This is great G$.

It's a great way to market, but I think it's also a great tool to help some smaller companies solidify brand voice.

When I take businesses through the steps of developing a brand voice, I often have them start by describing their company as a person...what kind of car does this person drive, what celebrity would play them in a movie, etc.

I think this brand twittering is an inexpensive way to test drive a brand voice and get feedback. And if you can't write a week's worth of twitter entries from your brand's point of view, you probably need a little more clarity.

Trader Joe

Jolly Pirate

I would also like to speak with Erin, the annoying "just past tweenager, big sisterly voice" who lives somewhere in the Tween Brands space and leaves messages on my vmail for my tween daughter. I have no idea what she looks like...only what she sounds like when she speaks her special brand of cheerleader/cost savings to my 12 y-o. So maybe this one has to do with her VISUAL brand???
